Hi Everyo
My Bird quilt top...like this one too, a bit quirky..
'70ties Holiday quilt top, needs more borders... a project I take with me when I go on holiday...
Little dancing dollies table runner, made from antique French
fabrics(bought in Nantes, France) on linen, mostly applique. I like this
too, don't know why this stayed in my closet for so long...
Of course there are even more plans in my head and patterns and books in my closet, so I feel very privileged .
And now I bought Brigitte Giblin's second book: Feathering the nest 2 at the Quiltster
it is full of nice new projects, ha ha, just what I needed, new ideas!
Saturday the 23thrd I will be attending a workshop in 'back basting applique' and trunkshow (with antique quilts) from Dawn, collector with a needle at Quilt it & Dotty at Overloon (the Netherlands). Exciting!
( I think there are still some tickets left for the trunk show only).
The plan is to show progress on all my projects from above in the coming year!!!
I wish everyone a very creative year too in 2016,
This dolls bed was hidden under other things in a charity shop. I was able to buy it for almost nothing and the woman in the shop was glad she finally sold it! Well, this bed made my day!!! I'm so happy I found it.
It is quite heavy, solid and has its original paint. It looks old to me and so nice to display doll quilts of course!
There is a bottom made out of board with small holes in it. So I made a mattress and found an old doll pillow and self made doll quilt in my closet.
The little quilt on this bed is this one. The pattern is called: 'hidden nine patch or disappearing nine patch'
It is a fun and easy pattern to work with.
I made this doll from a Tilda book in january 2010. Her body fabric is stretchy so she is a little bit bigger than she is supposed to be but that is all right with me.
And even if you are awake you would want to stay in this bed with a good book ;)
ps. the bed meassures:
length: 57cm by width: 33cm
Have a nice day!
Today a sneak peak in my sewingroom, not big, but lots to see!
This first picture shows my sewing table with red and white plastic tablecloth fixed (with a staple gun) on top. For storing little things, I used jam jars also with red and white checkers. I screwed the lids on the underside of the narrow Ikea shelf.
I used the Ikea magnet strip (in Dutch: magneetlijst) to store my scissors and covered the strip with fabric (fabric with sewing notions;)
See the result? I find it very practical.
Under the table between the table legs I made a rod to hang all those spools with ribbons. On the floor there is a little bench to rest my feet, also in red and white :)
And this storage rack ( from Ikea too) is made for a kitchen but becomes very handy in the sewing room, I spray painted it white.
More sewing room photo's to come next time;)
Have a nice day!
Work from Sheila Frampton-Cooper (from the USA, but now living in the
Provence). There are many quilts displayed from her, she made all of
them the last 5 years. I like her work very much. She told me she works
in an intuitive way, without patterns or plan. She creates it while she
works at it.
Sheila Frampton-Cooper: 'Deep sea portals'
Sheila Frampton-Cooper: 'Marie Magdeline de la Sainte Baum'.
These three quilt projects above are made by Barbara Lange from Germany.
Made by Gaby Mett. I would love to make something like this :)
Made by Rebecca Campeau (France). Strange isn't it?
Detail photo from work made by Beatrice Lanter.
These two extraordinary quilts were made by Brigitte Busk from Denmark.
This one is called : Flames and made by Hilde van Schaardenburg (The Netherlands)
One of the 'Modern quilt guild' quilts. There many, but this is a detail from a quilt made by Kathy York (USA)
And the last picture from today. I made my first little block from the 1718 Coverlet. I'm surprised at how similar the fabrics are! This was from a scrap bag I bought yesterday (see post from 16 september 2015).
Hope you enjoyed the pictures. There was so much to see. These photo's above are just a selection from what I liked or wanted to show because it looked new to me

Cathedral windows update
Cathedral windows in the Alsace, France, with the little holiday cabin where we stayed in the background, in September.
Cathedral windows at the swimming pool in le Vendée, France and on the terrace, also in September.
This is the size of my cathedral windows quilt today, photographed in the late afternoon sun. It measures:
82 cm by 72 cm.

I'm still working on it whenever I have some time left in between
other projects, sometimes in the car or on the couch in the evening
