Immunity an introduction

Definition                                                                                                                                                                 In biology, immunity is the balanced state of having adequate biological defenses to fight infectiondisease, or other unwanted biological invasion, while having adequatetolerance to avoid allergy, and autoimmune diseases.

Classification of immunity

.

Factors breaking down the immunity

  1. Malnutrition / inadequate nutrition.
  2. Concurrent infective with other parasite, bacteria, viruses etc.
  3. Stress from journey, overwork or climatic changes.
  4. Heavy infective dose of the parasites.
  5. Repeated and prolong steroid therapy.

MECHANISMS OF IMMUNITY

Immunity production involves phagocytosis by micro and macrophages and production of specific antibodies. Phagocytes engulf the invading organisms and the lysozyme (an enzyme secreted by the phagocytic cells) tries or actually to dissolve or destroy the organisms. Otherwise this may carry the organisms to the organs for further activities that is production of antibodies.
