sources of infections

The sources of infections may be an infective definitive host, reservoir host, I/H or transport host. The avenue though which the parasite leaves the host are;
1.      Feces: When the parasite inhabits in the digestive and respiratory system.
2.      Sputum or nasal secretion: When the parasite lives in the respiratory system.
3.      Urine or Genital secretion: When the parasite lives in the genito-urinary system.
4.      Blood or lymph: The parasites are takes by the Arthropod vector or mechanically and introduced into the healthy individual.

5.      Skin or tissue: The parasites are transferred into healthy animal after ingestion of infected tissues or coming contact with infested / infected skin. E.g. Ectoparasite
